Minor league baseball game halted by ominous-looking tornadic activity (photo)
A Texas minor league baseball game between the Frisco RoughRiders (the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers) and Northwest Arkansas Naturals (the Double-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals) came to an abrupt halt on Thursday night due to inclement weather.
Actually, “inclement” woefully understates exactly what kind of savage weather was moving in. “Apocalyptic” may be a more apt term to describe the eye-popping imagery captured by a reporter in a photograph snapped of the ominous supercell bearing down on the ballpark.

Yamma hamma. Forget the original title of the Doors classic, more like “RoughRiders on the Storm,” am I right? I can hear the moody, uneasy and ominous organ solo in my head while looking at these photos.
Not surprisingly, the game was postponed during the third inning.
Sorry fans, but tonight’s game has been postponed. Double-header action tomorrow with games at 4:05 and 7:05. See you then!

Yeah, good call. Still, despite the violence that can be unleashed by such as storm — which this storm apparently did — it is impossible to not be awed by the savage majesty of Mother Nature.
