In what some of the more unhinged New York Jets fans are viewing as the ultimate betrayal, cornerback Darrell Revis signed a one-year, $12 million deal with the New England Patriots on Wednesday upon his release by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Yep, the hated Patriots. The nerve of that guy. Some disgruntled Jets fans took to Twitter on Wednesday to express their feelings about Revis deciding to join forces with such a bitter enemy. And of course, as folks are wont to do in this kind of situation, a couple of them burned jerseys of their once-worshiped hero.

This isn’t the first time a Revis-Jets jersey has been put to flame, nor will it likely be the last — look for things to “heat up” again when the Jets face the Pats next season. I guess the two fans who burned their Revis jerseys on Wednesday at least can be grateful that they weren’t impulsive when Revis was traded to the Bucs during the 2013 offseason. Had they been and set fire to their Revis jerseys back then, what would they have burned now?
