Blake Griffin, Jermaine O’Neal have words following Clippers-Warriors game

The Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors have been involved in an acrimonious relationship as of late and it appeared that things had the potential to be kicked up a notch following Wednesday night’s 111-98 Clippers win.

Following the game, Blake Griffin and Jermaine O’Neal were spotted engaging in a heated discussion outside the Clippers locker room. Dan Woike of the Orange County Register reported that O’Neal initiated the confrontation, but in the end, cooler heads prevailed and the two shook hands and left it at that.

Games between the two squads have been conspicuously chippy recently, with a Christmas game between the teams typifying the bitterness that has developed.

After Blake Griffin was whistled for two technical fouls and subsequently ejected in that game, Clippers players accused Warriors players of going out of their way and intentionally trying to get Griffin to get himself ejected.

The two were involved in a minor incident during the game when O’Neal was called for technical foul for hollering at Griffin during a 4th quarter timeout.

When asked about the incident afterward, Griffin would not comment on the substance nor the cause of the exchange, only saying, “was between me and him.”

Griffin, of course, allowed his play on the court do most of the talking, scoring 30 points and pulling down 15 rebounds, but the highlight of the night was a phenomenal putback slam during the 4th quarter.

Following a missed three by Danny Granger, Griffin came out of nowhere to snag the rebound one-handed before flushing it with authority.

Blake Griffin: A Good Dunker. Surprised you didn’t know that.
