Towel boy nearly trucked by Tyler Hansbrough, dives out of the way (video))
An NBA towel boy likely saw his young life flash before his eyes during Monday’s game between the Toronto Raptors and Brooklyn Nets? Why? Because he was very nearly run over by Raptors big man Tyler Hansbrough.
A quick turnover off a steal and a fast break by Hansbrough left the towel boy, who was likely mopping up sweat on the court, staring down the oncoming 6-foot-9, 250-pound basketball player.
Hansbrough ultimately missed the shot although it’s hard to say whether the layup too strong off the backboard was the result of the towel boy’s interference.
The towel boy so narrowly avoided obliteration that he was forced to dive out of the way before being totally trucked. To make matters worse, the towel boy’s nifty dive move almost caused him to take out a referee who was chasing down the play.
In fact, the referee displayed an almost superior demonstration of athleticism by nimbly leaping over the diving towel boy.
But in the end, Towel Boy Kid should be thanking his lucky stars that he wasn’t on the receiving end of the potentially devastating and injurious onrush of Psycho T.
