Tiger Woods’ young fans are a face-painting, head-shaving, hardcore bunch (photos)

Tiger Woods always draws a huge crowd of onlookers no matter how he’s playing (more on that later), but rarely have they appeared so, uh, hardcore. Check out the above family who was spotted during a rain-soaked first round on Thursday during the WGC-Cadillac Championship at Doral that ultimately was suspended due to darkness. You got the tattooed dad (presumably) and a couple of youngsters with their faces all painted up — quite impressively, I might add — to resemble a ferocious, you guessed it, tiger.

I may be mistaken, but I believe this is the same young gent as in the photograph above, and as you can see, he also has Tiger’s logo shaved into the back of his head:

Not so killer, meanwhile, is Woods’ game at the moment. Despite his ailing back, Tiger decided to give it a go this week. He may be wishing now he had done otherwise.

After walking off the course 2-over par after ten holes when play was suspended on Thursday, Woods returned to Doral on Friday and things got worse.

Tiger was all over the place on the back nine, going bogey, par, bogey, double-bogey, birdie, birdie, birdie (a nice stretch) and then finished with a bogey on 18 for a 4-over 76.

At the time of this post, Woods is starting his second round on the back nine. He started the tenth with a birdie but remains tied for 51st for the tournament.

But hey, at least he’s got his hardcore fans out there supporting him. That’s something.
