Footage surfaces of Ray Rice allegedly dragging unconscious fiancee out of elevator (video)

In an already ugly story that is about to get uglier, irrespective of its ultimate outcome, TMZ claims to have obtained footage of Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice dragging fiancée Janay Palmer, who appears to be unconscious, out of a casino elevator.

The alleged incident occurred on Feb. 15 at Revel Casino in Atlantic City. According to TMZ, police allege that there was an altercation between the two that resulted in both parties being arrested for assault. TMZ further reports that police have stated there is footage that confirms Rice and Palmer both were aggressors in the altercation.

The obtained video shows a man whom TMZ purports to be Rice dragging a woman out of an elevator before laying her down. While the footage seems damning, Rice’s attorney has no intention of discussing it with the media and indicates that the video does not tell the entire story.

Ray’s attorney Michael Diamondstein tells us … he has not seen the video but is adamant, “Neither Ray nor myself will try this case in the media.”

He adds, “However, the video that’s being posted by TMZ Sports is not the complete event, but is merely the end result of what transpired.”

“We’ll assure the public that when this matter is fully tried and completed, you’ll have a better understanding of what happened and we ask the public to reserve making any judgment until all of the facts come out.”

Not good. Not good at all. No matter how this shakes out in the end — and both parties should have the opportunity to tell their respective stories, in court and otherwise — the footage, if that is indeed Rice, does little to assuage the belief that the running back is facing a very ugly situation with what may turn out to have very dire consequences, both personally and professionally … and very possibly criminally.
