Dwight Howard, James Harden put on nifty dunk demo following Rockets practice (video)
LeBron James isn’t the only NBA superstar who can put on an impromptu dazzling dunking demonstration that can enthrall the Internet. Proving imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, Houston Rockets teammates Dwight Howard and James Harden put on rim-rocking display of post-practice slamma-jamma that delighted their colleagues.
First up was Howard, how threw down two nifty slams, the first being a crafty one where he bounced the ball off the backboard with his left hand before flushing it with authority with his right hand.
Chandler Parsons really dug that one.
Howard then went with a powerful windmill jam after bouncing the ball off the wall, demonstrating that the big guy still has some major ups and an abundant amount of athleticism.
Not wanting to be left out, Harden was up next. And while the Bearded One isn’t known as a dominant in-game dunker — although he can (and does) — he showed that in this casual setting, he can throw down with the best of them with a nifty between-the-legs slam.
Good stuff. The Houston Rockets are riding a seven-game winning streak coming out of the All-Star Break and sit only 2.5 games behind the division-leading San Antonio Spurs coming down the home stretch. Odds are if the Rockets can overtake the Spurs, these two guys will have a lot to do with it, dunk shows or not.
