Lebanese Olympic skier Jacky Chamoun apologizes for racy topless photo shoot (SFW pics)
Lebanese Olympic skier Jacky Chamoun, scheduled to race in the women’s slalom and giant slalom next week in Sochi at the Winter Olympics, was forced to apologize after a behind-the-scenes video surfaced from a racy photo shoot she participated in where the skier appears topless.
The shoot was for a calendar released last year and while the images culled from the shoot were suggestive but not nude, the video contained footage of Chamoun’s exposed breasts.
“I want to apologize to all of you, I know that Lebanon is a conservative country and this is not the image that reflects our culture,” Chamoun wrote on Facebook. “I fully understand if you want to criticise this.”
While Lebanon is considered one of the more liberal nations in the Middle East, the footage of Chamoun topless may have gone too far for its standards, particularly as it involved an athlete representing the country. Still, Lebanon will not prevent Chamoun from participating in the Games.
Via the New York Daily News:
“The Lebanese Olympic Committee will not ask to exclude Chamoun from the Sochi Games in adherence to the Olympic rules, especially since the offense did not take place during the preparations (for the Games) nor during the Games,” the committee said in a statement, according to ABC News, adding that the images do “not reflect the real image of the Lebanese sports.”
