Blazers’ Williams on Kevin Durant’s 46-point night: ‘He probably could have scored on Jesus’ (video)

Kevin Durant continues to shockingly exceed the otherworldly expectations placed upon him as one of the best basketball players on the planet. The Oklahoma City Thunder superstar and MVP favorite dropped 46 points on the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday, going 17-25 from the field, including 6-7 from three-point land. With the 105-97 win, the Thunder (32-10) now hold a one-game lead over the Blazers (31-11) in the Western Conference’s Northwest Division.

KD’s mind-blowing offensive output on Tuesday marked the eighth-straight game he has topped 30 points. A tweet from Daily Thunder’s Royce Young puts a statistical exclamation point Durant’s remarkable run of late:

Holy crap. That’s absurd.

Trail Blazers sixth man Mo Williams, blown away by Durant’s performance, could only articulate his thoughts by making an allusion to how Durant could have schooled an otherworldly being.

“The way he was playing, he probably could have scored on Jesus,” he joked, according to a report in The Oregonian.

To lend further mythology to Durant’s basketball god-like performance, KD apparently let the Blazers bench know there wasn’t any stopping him on this night.

“I think he said, ‘I’m about to take this (bleep) over,'” one anonymous Portland player reportedly stated.

The alleged smack talk apparently occurs at approximately the 4:20 mark of the following video that documents Durant’s monster night.

Unreal. And take his (bleep) over he did. Durant did score 11 points over the final 3:23, leading the Thunder on a 15-2 run to end the game, but it was the three-pointer that knotted the game at 95 with a little under three minutes remaining is what prompted Durant to drop some trash talk on the Blazers bench.

The burst of arguably bush league enthusiasm wasn’t Durant’s only misstep — if trash-talking can be considered a misstep in today’s NBA — of the night.

With the Thunder down 93-90, Durant was called for an offensive foul and then received a technical after striking the scorer’s table.

“It was really a stupid, stupid reaction by me,” Durant said, according to “I could have hurt my team really badly. I was just more frustrated with myself, turning the ball over. I can’t hurt my team like that. This time, it went in our direction. Next time, I’ve got to be smarter.”

The Blazers hit both free throws, but that’s when Durant scored five in a row, two on a twisting drive to the hoop and the other three on the aforementioned triple that prompted Durant to bust out “I’m about to take this (bleep) over.”

Hard to argue Durant on anything lately. No (bleep).
