Charles Barkley cracks joke about Kellen Winslow’s masturbatory malaise on TNT (video)
Leave it to Charles Barkley to find a way to work in a joke about the humiliating allegations found in a police report about New York Jets tight end Kellen Winslow’s arrest for synthetic pot possession in November.
For those catching up — although it would be surprising if someone who follows sports hasn’t heard about it — Winslow was spotted by an eyewitness who alleged in a statement to police that she witnessed Winslow masturbating in his SUV in a Target parking lot.
Not helping his cause was that when police came upon the scene, there were open jars of Vaseline in the center console. Yikes.
Moving on — something I’m sure Winslow wished would happen (but it won’t) — Barkley, God love him, managed to incorporate a joke about Winslow into Monday’s broadcast of “Inside the NBA.”
While airing highlights of the Golden State Warriors-Indiana Pacers game, Warriors guard Klay Thompson was shown making a pretty jump shot, to which Barkley opined:
“That boy can really stroke it right there. I’m going to take him to Target.”
Of course, the rest of the TNT crew loved it — how couldn’t they? — as guffaws quickly ensued.
Shaquille O’Neal, not wanting to be left out of the easy zinger, said, “Make sure nobody sees you, either,” before adding, “Make sure you roll your windows up.”
Gold. Absolute, live television gold. The only thing that would have made it better is if Sir Charles could have busted out a Shake Weight during the bit, something he has done in the past with hilarious results.
Hopefully, Kellen Winslow isn’t taking the “beating” he’s taking from every angle too “hard.” There’s no way he is going to be able to “rub this one out.” Everyone’s just “jerking” him around. Before he knows it, he will feel the “sweet release” of a story that has run its course.
