Even slashing the stick out of his hands won’t stop Alexander Ovechkin from scoring a goal (video)

It’s like déjà vu all over again. It was only Wednesday when we were allowed to bear witness of Alexander Ovechkin’s greatness courtesy of an believable goal he scored on Tuesday night. On Wednesday, Ovechkin afforded hockey fans of a repeat performance of his goal-scoring supremacy during the Washington Capitals-Pittsburgh Penguins tilt at CONSOL Energy Center.

After taking a slash to the stick in the third period courtesy of Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik, Ovie calmly recovered the stick after a few moments and blasted a one-timer past Marc-Andre Fleury. The goal — Ovechkin’s 34th on the season — gave the Caps a 3-2 lead, but unfortunately, the Penguins scored two unanswered goals as the Capitals lost to its fierce rivals by a score of 4-3.
