Auburn Tigers running back Tre Mason has two new pairs of socks that feature … him (photo)

Running back Tre Mason enjoyed a phenomenal season as he helped lead the Auburn Tigers to a slot in the BCS National Championship Game to face the Florida State Seminoles for all the marbles on Jan. 16.

Because of his amazing production, Mason was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Year by the Associated Press in light of leading the SEC in both rushing (1,621 yards) and touchdowns (22) this season.

Mason’s heroic performance in the SEC Championship Game against the Missouri Tigers — 46 carries, 304-yards, 4 touchdowns — as Auburn upended Mizzou by a score of 59-42 in a high-scoring track meet.

Mason also was named a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. And while he finished sixth in the voting, that does nothing to downgrade his brilliant season.

Nike has elected to pay tribute to Mason’s accomplishments with … socks. Yep, socks. But exclusive Nike Elite socks, so you know the footwear is really nice.

Mason posted the below photo of the two pairs of socks that feature him.

Now, if Mason is running short on time to his the mall, those would make great stocking stuffers, right? Or would that be in form? Putting socks in another person’s Christmas stocking? Huh.
