Washington Capitals fan stays for rest of game after she’s bloodied by puck to the head (photos)

During the third period of Sunday’s game between the Washington Capitals and Philadelphia Flyers at Verizon Center, a female Caps fan was the drilled directly in the forehead by a wayward puck. The contact opened up a sizable gash in her forehead and she required medical attention.

But if you think for one moment blood pouring from her head was going to stop her from enjoying the rest of the game from her great seats, think again.

Yep, she stayed for the entire game before heading to the hospital to get some stitches to close up the gash. Subsequent Twitter posts revealed she’s a hockey player, so it only makes sense.

Here’s some video coverage of the incident from the broadcast:

As mentioned above, the woman’s condition was updated on Twitter by the tough-as-nails gal herself:

On Monday morning, Drummond responded to a few inquiries regarding her condition.

It’s a good thing she stuck around as the Capitals prevailed, storming back from a 4-1 deficit by scoring three goals in the final 8:40 of regulation and winning 5-4 in the shootout.

Hockey fans are a different breed. Especially when they are hockey players as well. Impressive.
