Breaking: Louisville Cardinals QB Teddy Bridgewater is a pretty good football player (video)
No, really: Louisville Cardinals quarterback Teddy Bridgewater really is a pretty good football player. Surprised you hadn’t heard that.
For those out there in Internetland who require more evidence of Bridgewater’s considerable skill other than some stupid blogger attesting to it, look no further than the miraculous play he made during Thursday night’s 31-24 overtime win against the Cincinnati Bearcats.
During the 3rd-and-8 play midway through the 4th quarter, Bridgewater, under duress from a fierce pass rush, scrambles in the pocket, shifts to the right, spins, jukes and performs just about every other football move before falling back and throwing a perfect off-balance strike off his back foot to receiver Damian Copeland in the back of the end zone.
Quite simply a fantastic play. I’m telling you, don’t sleep on this kid. He just might have a future in college football, maybe even in the NFL. I can see a team taking a flier on this Bridgewater fellow in the middle rounds of the 2014 NFL Draft. You read it here first, folks.
