Bat divebombs court but cheerleaders save the day at Texas-Vanderbilt game (photo/GIF)
During Monday’s men’s basketball tilt between the Texas Longhorns and Vanderbilt Commodores, a bat made its terrifying presence felt at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin.

But thankfully, as they are wont to do, cheerleaders saved the day as the gals allegedly summoned the courage to corral the winged beast (via The Dagger):
Cheerleaders trapped the bat under a megaphone when it flew into South O-Zone. I couldn't tell you what happened in last 2 mins of the game

Fantastic. Gotta hand it to the cheerleaders. Well done.
As Sporting News notes, this isn’t the first time a bat has disrupted a college basketball game. In January, another member of the winged mammal species descended upon and wreaked havoc during a Marquette-Providence game:
Further, a bat disrupted an Atlanta Braves game at Turner Field last August. Those crazy critters, always causing problems.
For what it is worth, the Longhorns did defeat the Commodores by a score of 70-64. Perhaps Texas was motivated by the display of bravery exhibited by the cheerleaders.
