Woman willing to trade wedding ring for Kansas City Chiefs tickets makes a deal

In a story right out of a Harlequin romance novel — or “Pawn Stars” — the woman who posted an ad on Craigslist offering up a straight-up exchange of her wedding ring for tickets to the Kansas City Chiefs-Denver Broncos game at Arrowhead Stadium on Dec. 1 has struck a deal.

The deal was finalized on Thursday.

In an email to the Kansas City Star and several other news outlets, the woman stated, “It’s official! I have tickets to the game!!!”

She continued: “We met at a jewelry store so they could verify the ring was real and matched the appraisal I had provided him.“The official trade was the ring for 4 tickets to the 12/1 Broncos game and 2 tickets to the 11/24 Chargers game.”

The woman originally wanted club-level seats, but the tickets are in Section 123 — nothing to sneeze at — and is perhaps why she received some bonus tickets in the trade.

The willing partner in the exchange was a man, a season ticket holder since 1993, who claims he and his girlfriend began talking about getting hitched last month.

Everybody wins! Except for the guy who gave the woman the wedding ring originally. That’s gotta sting.

In actuality, the ring and wedding band, appraised at $2,800, was from a previous marriage, so the story isn’t quite as bad as it seems, but one thing is for certain about the ex-husband and his choice of ring:

He clearly did not go to Jared.
