Mound celebrations in Korean baseball are calm, cool and choreographed (GIF)
A mound celebration, when it occurs in the major leagues, is typically a chaotic affair, lots of jumping around, barely controlled pandemonium characterized by demonstrations of joyful exuberance.
On the other hand, in Korea, when a mound celebration breaks out, while joyful, lacks the unbridled enthusiasm of its American (and Torontonian) counterparts.
But that does not mean it isn’t a sight to behold. Witness how the Samsung Lions celebrated a decisive 7-3 win over the Doosan Bears in Game 7 of the Korean Series, making the team the Korean Baseball Organization champions for the third consecutive season.
It’s really something.
Wow. That’s … unique. And well-choreographed.
