‘Yao Ming is Taller than People Who are Shorter than Him,’ Part 4: Pro golfers (pic)
In the Sportress of Blogitude’s continuing series, “Yao Ming is Taller than People Who are Shorter than Him,” which appears to have no end in sight, the former Houston Rockets superstar poses for photos alongside other athletes who are shorter than him. This makes Yao Ming appear even taller than he really is — 7-foot-6 — which is pretty tall to for starters. Place him next to athletes who aren’t quite as tall as him and the results? They appear shorter, he seems taller and it’s totally funny. Get it? You’re keeping up with me here, right? Not going to fast for you, correct?
For those slow on the uptake, allow me to illustrate: First it was Houston Texans defensive standout J.J. Watt. Up next, one of the greatest boxers who has ever lived, Manny Pacquiao. Just recently, Yao posed for a photograph with former diminutive NBA star Muggsy Bogues.
Next up: Professional golfers.
Buckle your seat belts, kiddos. This one, well, don’t mean to spoil it for anyone, but Yao Ming is taller than all of them.
As you may have known — or perhaps learned by enjoying the hilarious photo of golfers looking absurdly silly in a photo-op — many pro golfers are in the Far East to compete in the WGC-HSBC Champions tournament in Shanghai, China.
Pictured below with Yao Ming are Dustin Johnson (6’4″), Graeme McDowell (5’11”), Rory McIlroy (5’9″) and Luke Donald (5’9″).
Now, as you may recall, Yao Ming’s height of 7-foot-6 makes him taller than even the tallest of the golfers, Dustin Johnson. So, even Johnson appears shorter than Yao Ming. The other guys? Even shorter.
What a crazy, crazy world.
