GRONK GRONK GRONK

On Friday, the news finally arrived. After suffering through surgery after surgery, grueling rehab and other assorted delays, setbacks and whatnot, it has been announced that New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has been cleared to return to live NFL action, presumably to get both his “Gronk” and his spike on.

And it couldn’t have come at a better time for the Patriots, with a divisional showdown with the New York Jets on Sunday.

The marketing whizzes at BODYARMOR SuperDrink, in anticipation of this day, had a promotional spot all filmed and ready to roll. Tagged with #BacktoSuper, it chronicles everything that Gronk had to go through to get back on the field.

Who are the ad wizards yadda yadda yadda and so on and so forth.

Pretty heady stuff. Kind of like a training montage from some sports movie, only without the killer and cheesy soundtrack. I find it hard to believe that BODYARMOR couldn’t afford the change and chuck of pocket lint it probably costs to purchase the rights to use Phil Esposito’s “You’re the Best.” That really would have tied the entire thing together.

Ultimately, it’s nice to have Gronk back. Before we know it, he’ll be back to his his old Gronking ways, doing Gronk things in his typical Gronk manner while being all Gronk about it and stuff.

Gronk.
