Royals contact Jimmy Faseler, the jiggling belly guy, on Twitter

Kansas City Royals fan Jimmy Faseler is enjoying his 15 minutes of fame and he has to thank his undersized sweatshirt that caused his belly to be exposed in a celebratory jiggle-fest to thank for it.

Faseler’s jiggly gyrations while celebrating of an RBI triple by Lorenzo Cain made its way on to Kauffman Stadium’s jumbotron during Monday night’s game against the Cleveland Indians. From there, his antics became a viral hit on the interwebs, delighting folks with his carefree expression of exuberance.

And his rise to fame was only beginning.

Big League Stew managed to track down Mr. Faseler on Tuesday, and in a telephone interview, the 28-year-old resident of nearby Independence, Mo., expressed one regret about his sudden spike in notoriety: His jiggly gut. Although without it being exposed, Faseler probably wouldn’t be quite as big of a hit. Sure, he’d still be big — he said he goes between 275-300 pounds — just not as famous.

Faseler told BLS: “I got a text from my mom that said, ‘Hey, sweetie, saw you on TV. You need a longer shirt.'” Fair enough.

Faseler’s newfound fame also set into motion a give-and-take between the portly fellow and the Kansas City Royals organization on Twitter. As a result, he was invited back to the ballpark to take in Tuesday’s game.

Faseler isn’t some flash-in-the-pan who hasn’t had to put forth an effort for his notoriety. In fact, he said that he’s been on Kauffman Stadium’s JumboTron before, mainly due to his madcap antics.

“Pretty much every single Royals game I’ve been to, I’ve made it on the JumboTron,” Faseler said. “Mainly for dancing.”

Hardly surprising.
