Washington Nationals hold moment of silence before Tuesday’s game (video)

As mentioned earlier, the Washington Nationals wore Navy ball caps to honor the twelve victims who tragically died in the shootings at Navy Yard on Monday.

Before the first game of a day-night doubleheader against the Atlanta Braves at Nationals Park on Tuesday afternoon — a make-up game for the one canceled on Monday in light of what happened just a short distance away from the ballpark — the team held a moment of silence in remembrance.

As was the case when the Boston Red Sox held a ceremony before a game at Fenway Park shortly after the Boston Marathon bombings, it was an emotional moment for everyone in attendance, not to mention for anyone who watched it live or is now watching on video.
