Scott Brown makes eagle-2 after one of the luckiest bounces ever at The Barclays (vid)
During his first round at The Barclays on Thursday, PGA Tour journeyman Scott Brown pushed his tee shot on the driveable 325-yard, par-4 16th hole. The ball was headed straight for a plunge into a water hazard but after an unbelievable carom following a fortuitous bounce off a bridge-like cart path crossing, his ball miraculously found the green, landing short of the pin and rolling up to within a few feet.
Brown putted in for eagle-2 and finished his round with a one-under par 70, landing him in a tie for 49th, six strokes off the pace of tournament leader Kevin Stadler at the beginning of the second round.
But even if Brown can’t make up any ground and misses the cut, he’ll at least have the memory of getting one of the luckiest bounces ever.
