Blatant Homerism

Timberwolves forward Corey Brewer has owned a goat since 8th grade (photo)

There are few things more heartwarming, enduring and meaningful than the bond between a boy and his … goat? Apparently, for Minnesota Timberwolves forward Corey Brewer, that appears to be the case.

Brewer, who is returning the T’Wolves — the team that drafted him out of Florida with the seventh-overall pick (yikes) in the 2007 NBA Draft — after spending a few season as a member of both the Dallas Mavericks and Denver Nuggets, apparently has a pet goat, and has had him since he was a youngster.

Via the Timberwolves PR Department’s Twitter account:

Apparently, Brewer keeps his goat at his home in Tennessee. I’m sure that causes his Twin Cities landlord to breathe a sigh of relief.

The #BrewerOnAStick hashtag is in reference to the Minnesota State Fair, which opened on Thursday. The aforementioned Twitter account of the T’Wolves PR Department has been chronicling Brewer’s day at “The Great Minnesota Get-Together” and it looks like Brewer is enjoying all the sights, sounds and smells like a true Minnesotan:

Mmmm…pork chop on a stick.
