Matt Bonner eats carrots like a gangsta in veggie snack commercial (video)

With most, if not all of the highly coveted endorsement opportunities for Nike, Gatorade, Foot Locker, etc. being snatched up by the likes of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, James Harden and players of their ilk and pedigree, what is an NBA scrub like San Antonio Spurs power forward Matt Bonner supposed to do?

Well, opt to endorse whatever offers to pitch product come your way, of course. And that apparently includes appearing in bizarre, irreverent and hilarious commercials for some kind of veggie snack.

At least that’s what Bonner has done, starring in a commercial for ShakeDowns®, which are touted as “a revolutionary new snack featuring baby carrots and natural seasoning,” in which Bonner dons shades and eats carrots like a real O.G. Or how one would imagine how a real O.G. would eat carrots. You know, with a crew of hip hop farmboys at your side, dope beats in the background and some straight-up, carrot-snacking macking.

The description of the gangsta snack, via YouTube:

We came. We sang. We crunched your cravings.

ShakeDowns® are a revolutionary new snack featuring baby carrots and natural seasoning. And to make sure everyone heard about it, we spent four weeks singing, playing and sending out craving-crunching ballads inspired by you. Watch the videos and see for yourself how ShakeDowns® are grown to feed your cravings.

And the dope commercial:

Utterly brilliant. Available in ranch and chili lime flavors and at only 25 calories per pack, ShakeDowns® apparently are for hustlers who want to live the thug lifestyle but do so in a calorie-conscious, healthy manner. And isn’t that what we all really want?
