Danny Jacobs’ savage knockout of Giovanni Lorenzo results in mind-blowing GIFs

Danny Jacobs, who refers to himself as “Miracle Man” after overcoming  osteosarcoma, an aggressive form of spinal cancer that resulted in temporary paralysis in his legs after being diagnosed in 2011, started making his comeback in the ring a few years ago and that comeback has arrived courtesy of a devastating knockout of Giovanni Lorenzo at the 2:05 mark of Monday’s bout in New York’s Best Buy Theater in Times Square.

Jordan captured the WBC’s Continental Americas middleweight title that was vacant with the brutal blow with his right hand, which, when captured in slow motion GIF form, is a particularly brutal sight to behold.

Said Jacobs following the fight: “I know I made a statement tonight. I know Brooklyn came out in support and it fueled me. I knew I had the skills over him and he tried some Bernard Hopkins tactics and he tried to get into my head. He hit me with a good left hook and I said let’s go.”

Sweet sassy molassey. When the punch lands it looks like Lorenzo’s face is made out of Silly Putty or something.

And here’s Lorenzo trying — and failing (thankfully for him and his brain) — to get up off the mat:

Goodness gracious. Boxing may be called the “Sweet Science” but that punch was nothing but savage ultraviolence.

Here’s the video:

That’s great and all, but nothing beats those two GIFs, man. Crazy.
