Health club trolls Alex Rodriguez in front page ad in Boston Herald (photo)
On Tuesday’s front page of the Boston Herald, Boston Sports Club, a Boston-area health club, utilized its advertising space to do a bit of trolling at the expense of the sullied reputation of New York Yankees pariah Alex Rodriguez.
As you can see above, the message reads, “Alex, losing $34 million? don’t miss our summer sale. Join today and keep that A-bod.” Clearly a reference to the amount of money A-Rod eventually is forced to serve the 214-game suspension levied upon him by Major League Baseball in the wake of his alleged involvement in the Biogenesis scandal.
But yeah, ha. A-bod. Although it’s unlikely that Rodriguez take up Boston Sports Club on its offer, what with the fact he presumably will be playing the remainder of the season as his appeal snails its way through an arduous appeals process. Although I imagine if he did, he would find the facilities on par with the Boise, Idaho, health club he was spotted at over the Christmas holiday in 2011 with galpal, former WWE Diva Torrie Wilson.
And as an added bonus, any Boston Red Sox fans who are members of the club would be more than accommodating to A-bod. I mean A-Rod.
