Straight analysis, homey? Randy Moss reportedly in talks to join FOX Sports 1
Randy Moss announced his retirement from the NFL back in August of 2011, but made a respectable comeback during the 2012 season with the San Francisco 49ers, catching 28 balls and 3 touchdowns. Although he hasn’t announced that he is re-retiring, the news that he may be joining the soon-to-be-launched FOX Sports 1 in some capacity certainly makes it appear Moss has no immediate plans to return to the gridiron anytime soon.
Sources tell Pro Football Talk that the enigmatic wide receiver is nearing a deal to join the fledgling network and the report states that Moss would become part of the panel of a show called “FOX Football Daily,” where he would join Curt Menefee, Jay Glazer, Brian Urlacher, and Ronde Barber. The PFT report further states that Moss may become part of Sundays’ coverage of NFL action on the network as well.
Bringing Moss on board is a unique choice to be sure, but the 36-year-old, arguably one of the greatest wide receivers ever to play the game, was always a good quote and highly opinionated, so if that’s what Moss brings to the table in the role of analyst, he should do just fine.
Two pieces of advice for FOX Sports 1, though. First, we all know how Moss will want to be paid. And secondly, makes sure the catering on the set is up to snuff. Please, please, please, make sure of it. For everyone’s sake.
