NHL 14’s ‘Live the Life’ mode lets gamers to screw up just like real players (video)
When EA Sports’ “NHL 14” hits the shelves on Sept. 10, not only will it feature an “Anniversary Mode” that pays homage to arguably the greatest hockey video game ever created, “NHL ’94” in honor of the 20th anniversary of that game’s release, it will also include a “Live the Life” mode, which to be honest, looks pretty awesome.
The “Live the Life” mode allows gamers the opportunity to not only navigate the career of a player they create on the ice, but off the ice as well, including how decisions related to how the player conducts himself when dealing with external distractions, such as interacting with the media, his teammates and his fans, can have an impact on his career both at the rink — be traded after an unfortunate incident with an autograph seeker — and subsequently, off of it.
Again, pretty awesome.
Cool beans, man. Cool beans. And just a piece of advice: Don’t ever activate the “Emulate Patrick Kane” expansion pack. That’s just asking for trouble.
