The New York Post, a newspaper that refuses to play it safe with its front page, utilizing sarcasm, puns and crude drawings to illustrate its editorial stance, is and will continue to have a field day with the Alex Rodriguez debacle.

A day after publishing the above cover as the world awaited the much-anticipated punishment handed down by Major League Baseball to the New York Yankees third baseman on Monday, the New York Post struck again on Tuesday with its trademark wit when covering the news of A-Rod’s 211-game suspension, his defiance of the ruling by way of appeal, and how he fared in his first game with the Yankees this season in a game against the Chicago White Sox on Monday night.

Zing! The devil horns really tie the whole thing together, what with the “DAMNED YANKEE!” comment and stuff. Personally, I would have added an upside-down cross on his forehead to really drive home the point, but then again, I’ve never been too keen on subtlety.

Well played, New York Post. Well played.
