Cheesy rap video starring MLS All-Stars is so intentionally awful it’s brilliant (vid)

Apparently, the 2013 MLS All-Star Game will be played on Wednesday evening in Sporting Park, Sporting Kansas City’s home stadium. The fanfare and hype surrounding the league’s best players taking on Italy’s Italian AS Roma squad has been minimal and unnoticed at best — save for the diehards, of course — so Major League Soccer and Funny or Die teamed up to create an intentionally god awful rap performance in an ’80s style featuring some MLS All-Stars rapping horribly in a purposely poorly produced video.

Any way to get the word out, right? And it cannot be understated just how deliberately awful this train wreck is. It’s so bad it’s good. Brilliant, even.

Here’s “We’re Better Than The Rest,” as performed poorly by the MLS All-Stars. Buckle up, it’s going to be a bumpy ride (via Funny or Die):

Oh dear. The hackneyed lyrics, the poor delivery of said hackneyed lyrics? The poor production values?  Overalls, suspenders, Zubaz? This video has it all in brilliant horribleness. But in a good way, of course.
