Gag me with a spoon: Jay Cutler, Kristin Cavallari go ’80s for benefit (pic/vid)

So, when we first learned earlier this month that Jay Cutler would be holding a 1980s-themed fundraiser to benefit his charity, the Jay Cutler Foundation, it was with great anticipation that we waited for images from the event, just to see what the Chicago Bears quarterback would wear to the event.

And while Cutler didn’t go crazy with his “Ode-to-the-Eighties” ensemble, he did not disappoint either.

Dressed in a pink D.A.R.E. t-shirt, orange shorts and knee-high striped socks, Cutler certainly looked the part. But his wife, Kristin Cavallari, saying she was “responsible for this mess,” appeared to have more fun with the dress-up part of the festivities in light of her retro getup, despite the fact that Cutler noted, “”She was born in ’87, so she really doesn’t know much about this.” At the same time, Cutler was born in 1983, so it’s not like he had to suffer through adolescence during the garish fashion era that was the 1980s.

In the immortal words of Jeff Spicoli: “Awesome, totally awesome.”

And here’s some video of Cutler talking about former teammate Brian Urlacher’s comments that he would be pissed if the Bears won the Super Bowl without him:

Interesting thoughts from Cutler, but really the only reason to watch the video is to see Cutler strutting around in that ridiculous getup.
