Wait. What? Now that is a headline that warrants a few head-scratches. But it’s true: Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler and his wife Kristin Cavallari (who already clearly know how to rock it 80s-style), are holding a charity event on July 18 that features a 1980s dance theme, headlined by a special performance from one of the finest hitmakers of that era, Billy Ocean.

Get out of my dreams and into my 1980s dance party? Indeed.

Here’s the rundown of the event, which will benefit the Jay Cutler Foundation:

NFL fans will have the chance to revisit the iconic ‘80s with Jay Cutler and his bride Kristin Cavallari at Joe’s Bar on Weed Street on July 18. Don on your best ‘80s-inspired, brightly colored ensemble to this party benefiting a noble cause.

This three-hour bash featuring an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, a DJ spinning danceable tunes and a special performance from Billy Ocean best known for hits “Get Out of My Dreams, Get Into My Car” and “Caribbean Queen.” The best part: 80% of the purchase price of tickets will benefit the Jay Cutler Foundation, which works to help both underprivileged children and individuals with diabetes. This is going to be a party sports fans (and all Chicagoans) will remember.

It doesn’t get much better than that. For those who are interested in attending, the rundown on what it will cost to groove to a DJ spinning 80s classics from Dexys Midnight Runners, Culture Club, among others, as well as witness firsthand that Billy Ocean is indeed alive and in demand.

Here is what attendees can expect for the price of $59:

  • One general admission ticket to the Jay Cutler Foundation charity event at Joe’s Bar on Thursday, July 18, 2012 from 7 PM – 11 PM
  • Open bar from 7 PM – 8 PM
  • Performances by Billy Ocean and The Breakfast Club

Wait. The Breakfast Club? Before potential attendees think that Ally Sheedy and the gang will take a minute away from whatever it is they’re doing to show up for a charity event, let me be the one to break it to you that it is the band Breakfast Club, whom you may remember for their cover version of “Drive My Car” from the movie, “Licensed To Drive.” Holy 1980s overload, Batman!

Moving on, $175 gets a person a VIP ticket, which includes:

  • One VIP ticket to the Jay Cutler Foundation charity event at Joe’s Bar on Thursday, July 18, 2012 from 7 PM – 11 PM
  • Open bar from 7 PM – 10 PM
  • Signed Jay Cutler picture
  • Designated VIP area
  • Performances by Billy Ocean and The Breakfast Club

It had me at three-hour open bar. But to throw in a signed Jay Cutler picture on top of it? That’s almost too good to be true. Plus, Billy Ocean is going to be there.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a hankering for a little “Caribbean Queen” jam. Hard to resist the Ocean, man.
