Arby’s takes shot at Spurs benchwarmer Tracy McGrady on Twitter (pic)
Veteran Tracy McGrady, whose best basketball playing days are well behind him, signed a contract with the San Antonio Spurs on April 16, 2013, just before the team’s season finale. And while he has been along for the magical ride to the NBA Finals along with Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and has had a front-row seat to Danny Green’s heroics, his contributions have been minimal at best.
During San Antonio’s remarkable run though the postseason, McGrady has posted just over 30 minutes of playing time, with only a shade under 15 minutes in the Finals against LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and all the other guys on the Miami Heat roster, scoring no points but contributing four rebounds and five assists.
For some unknown reason, a question posed Twitter raconteur @DragonflyJonez on Wednesday night during Game 6 elicited a response from the wisenheimer who was running the official Twitter account of the slow-cooked, freshly sliced roast beef outfit, Arby’s.
And man oh man, did Arby’s zing the longtime NBA player.
@DragonflyJonez Actually, we had to release him. He kept making too many turnovers. 😉

BAM! Talk about being “roasted” am I right?
And while the shot at McGrady came out of nowhere, it has given me a hankering for some roast beef goodness. With that in mind, I have one thing left to add:
Sounds good, doesn’t it?
