On April 28, 2013, Elijah Hood, a highly-touted running back out of Charlotte Catholic (N.C.) verbally committed to play for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Since Alabama — and other top-notch schools — would never give up on a talented prospect (Rivals.com has Hood ranked the third-best player at his position and the thirteenth best player overall) until he puts pen to paper, the Crimson Tide have not relented in their pursuit of Hood.

The young man had some fun on Twitter and Vine recently by documenting the many letters he continues to receive from Alabama. And Hood wasn’t afraid to let his true feelings be known about the continued correspondence.

Yep. He flushed the letters from Alabama down the toilet and uploaded video of it.

Hood’s tweet on Tuesday evening alerting the Twittersphere about his flushcapades:

Ha. #RollToilet hashtag. Well played.

Not surprisingly, once folks caught wind of Hood’s antics, Twitter blew up. And of course, it was a mixed bag as it related to whether people were supportive of Hood’s royal flush or condemned him for his actions. But Hood tried to defend his decision to attend Notre Dame and not Alabama with the following tweet:

Hood tried his best to extinguish the college football flame war he had ignited by expressing his pride in being a D1 athlete:

Finally, for those of you out there who are concerned about the integrity of Hood’s plumbing due to his flushing of large volumes of paper down the commode, have no fear:

Awesome.
