Young Marlins fan accompanied by Transformers during first pitch (video)

Timothy Stahlsmith’s already memorable evening at Marlins Park was made that much cooler when Transformers characters Optimus Prime and Bumblebee accompanied him to the mound when he thew out the ceremonial first pitch before the Miami Marlins hosted the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday.

What? No Starscream? That blows.

But seriously, that is awesome. You even could say that there was “more than meets the eye” as well, as to make the moment that much more awesome, the Transformers robots were on hand as part of Give Kids the World Foundation granting a fan the chance to not only throw out the first pitch but to do so with some pretty cool guests as well.

And young Stahlsmith did a heckuva a job with his pitch to Marlins starter Jose Fernandez. A pretty cool event all the way around. Kudos to all involved.

Although, if that had been me on the mound, I would have preferred Gobots instead of Transformers. That’s just me being a bit of a stickler, but that’s how I rolled when I was a wee lad.
