Gal who swooned after Pacers’ buzzer-beater was owner’s daughter? (video)

A video that has been making its way around the ‘webs since Tuesday evening features a woman falling to the court in joy after watching Indiana Pacers guard Lance Stephenson hit a third-quarter buzzer beater against the Miami Heat.

While certainly an impressive play and it could be argued it had something of a substantial impact upon the outcome of the game — which the Pacers won 99-92 to even up the series at two games apiece — it was only a made shot to close out the end of a quarter, not the game. Further, it was a three-pointer, not a half-court shot, three-quarter shot, desperation heave, etc.

Still, the Pacers fans packing the Bankers Life Fieldhouse erupted in ecstatic celebration, namely one woman in particular, who appears to be so moved by the moment she collapses, like she’s a teenager in the 1960s who just saw Paul McCartney, um, make a huge bucket on the Ed Sullivan Show or something.

The previously unidentified woman in question undoubtedly was going to enjoy her fair share of Internet infamy, albeit anonymously if her identity had never been revealed. But if some emerging reports are accurate, it turns out that this gal is something of a mover and shaker at Pacers games, given the fact that she’s allegedly the daughter of Pacers owner Herb Simon.

First, the video of her rapturous response to the nifty play:

And a GIF isolating the young lady’s celebration (via Eye on Basketball):

And the subsequent reporting identifying her as the daughter of the Pacers owner, from the Daily Thunder’s Royce Young:

She sure does love her Pacers, that’s for sure. But she might want to scale back the intensity just a hair. After all, how would she respond if the Pacers won the NBA title? Her head may explode or something.
