Fan uses his hat to make nifty grab of Vernon Wells’ home run ball (video)

Hey, if you don’t bring a glove, what are you supposed to do? Use your hands? Not bloody likely, at least as far as this fan is concerned who made a pretty nifty grab of a home run ball during the New York Yankees-Colorado Rockies game on Wednesday night at Coors Field.

With one on in the top of 1st inning, Yankees slugger Vernon Wells uncorked on a Juan Nicasio offering, depositing the ball over the left field fence. That’s when the fan utilizes his cap to secure the prized piece of memorabilia, leaning over the railing and nabbing the ball before it eludes his grasp.

Well done, Cap Man. Better yet, he didn’t even endanger a baby in the process while catching the ball with his hat. That’s a bonus.
