Hockey announcer’s brain explodes, yells ‘It was a clean hit!’ repeatedly (video)
In a thrilling game between the North American Hockey League’s Bismarck Bobcats and Austin Bruins last weekend that saw the team from the North Dakota state capital storm back to win an epic 4-3 overtime victory, the announcer covering the game, perhaps after suffering a massive brain aneurysm, lets out a savage howl or some such loud and guttural scream that went something like, “CHECKEDINTHEWALLBYWHALINNNN!!! WOAHHNNNGGG!!! OH MY GOD!!! NOOOOO!!! WHALINSJUMPEDATCENTER!!!” before repeating over and over and over again, “It was a clean hit. It was a clean hit. It was a clean hit. It was a clean hit. It was…” You get the gist of it.
Be forewarned: You might not want your speakers turned up too high before starting the video if you don’t want to blow them out.
Good gravy. “They gotta save Whalin!”
But seriously, who is that guy? GOP candidate for Stark County Treasurer, Phil Davidson? Wow.
Either way, whoever he is, I wonder if he still thinks it was a clean hit. You know, after a 24-hour IV drip of some seriously strong sedatives and a few rounds of electroshock therapy.
