LeBron James fan runs on court, other odd stuff occurs during Cavs-Heat (pics/vids)

It was a crazy scene at Quicken Loans Arena on Wednesday night as LeBron James and the Miami Heat came to town to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers. Or better put, crazier than it usually is whenever King James returns to his old stomping grounds.

The madness and mayhem began even before tip-off, as the game was delayed 35 minutes due to the scoreboard leaking a sticky liquid on to the court.

And then things got progressively weirder.

Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert tweeted the following message explaining the pregame delay situation:

And then the game finally began. Ultimately, the Cavaliers inexplicably blew a 27-point lead to LeBron and the gang, losing 98-95, meaning the Heat continued their near-historic winning streak, which is now sitting at a mind-boggling 24 games.

If that wasn’t an interesting enough of a night with those two surprising occurrences, between the aforementioned opening tip and the final buzzer, a bunch of other crazy stuff went down to boot.

Early on in the 4th quarter, LeBron capped the Heat’s remarkable comeback from a monumental deficit with a game-tying three-pointer. And then he posed, stared out into the crowd and pounded his chest.

And then it got real weird.

A few minutes after LeBron’s big three and with the Heat up by four, a Cavaliers fan moseyed out onto the court during play. Wearing a white t-shirt that bore the self-written message of “WE MISS YOU” on the front and “2014 COME BACK,” the fan halted play before security descended upon him, but not before LeBron gave the crazy young man a benevolent pat on his head.

The mention of the year 2014 is of course a reference to when James can opt-out of his deal with the Heat, meaning in this guy’s mind that could spell the return of King James to his Cleveland kingdom.

LeBron was quoted in an AP report as saying after the game as saying, “He said he missed me and come back, please,” adding, “It happened once before in (Madison Square) Garden, so I wasn’t worried. There are metal detectors here, so we were OK. I embraced it.”

No matter what happens in the future, anyone who paid good money for a seat to watch Wednesday night’s game firsthand sure got their money’s worth with this one.
