Zach Galifianakis, T’Wolves’ Nikola Pekovic meet, discuss ‘My Giant’ remake (pic)

The Minnesota Timberwolves were in Los Angeles on Thursday to take on the Lakers at the STAPLES Center. At some point during the team’s visit to LaLa Land, T’Wolves bruising big man Nikola Pekovic crossed paths with über-funnyman and star of stage and screen Zach Galifianakis.

Injured Timberwolves star Kevin Love tweeted out the photo on Thursday evening and the incredible size differential between the basketball player and the comedian — although it is not surprising given that Pekovic is 6’11” and 270 pounds and Zach is 5’8″ and, um, less heavy than Pek —  is a sight to behold.

Awesome. It looks like Pek could pick up Zach and snap him like a bearded twig. If there ever were such a thing, I guess a bearded twig would probably be some kind of Ent being, when you think about it.

Anyway, according to some tweets in response to Love’s posting of the photo, Nikola Pekovic is apparently a huge fan of Zach’s. With that in mind, and to unnecessarily drive home the dated reference made in the title, wouldn’t it be grand if these two got together for a remake of My Giant. Sure, Billy Crystal and Gheorghe Mureșan both performed capably in their 1998 film, but Zach Galifianakis, unlike Crystal, is, you know, funny. And big Gheorghe lacked a super cool tattoo that would have lent his character a much-needed level of intimidating bad-assery. To balance out the unfunny Crystal, you see. I don’t like Billy Crystal.
