Here’s a preview of the 2013 Toronto Blue Jays season, Nintendo-style (video)

The Toronto Blue Jays vs. former manager John Farrell: Who ya got? Season previews for MLB teams can be a notoriously uninformative exercise, tending to rely a lot on projections, best-case scenarios and “If, and then” propositions. Thanks to this wonderful YouTube video, the traditional season preview — in this case a preview for the upcoming season for the Toronto Blue Jays — has been transformed into a much less bland, much more entertaining piece of Nintendo-ized, 8-bit animated goodness.

Those were the days, eh? It’s a pleasant experience to hearken back to those days of yore, both when the old, now-antiquated Nintendo systems were the best thing in the world , not to mention when the Toronto Blue Jays routinely would challenge the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox for division supremacy. Thankfully, between this awesome video and Toronto’s organizational resurgence, they both have found a place in this strange and perplexing modern world.
