New York Post trolls Yankees, A-Rod with snarky cover with signed baseball (photo)
Following the manner in which the Yankees were unceremoniously dispatched from the postseason courtesy of a four-game sweep by the Detroit Tigers in the American League Championship Series, the New York Post, as it is wont to do, took it to an easy — and arguably deserving — target: The Bronx Bombers.
While the target of the paper’s ire was the entire Yankees squad, by utilizing a signed baseball that read “Dear Yankees, We Don’t Date Losers! Signed, New Yorkers,” the Post utilized and saved its most scathing commentary and pointed it directly at Alex Rodriguez, who created a media firestorm and a distraction for the team by allegedly hitting on and flirting with two Australian lasses in the stands during Game 1 of the ALCS on Saturday and then reportedly going on a date with one of the gals: bikini model Kyna Treacy.
Yeah, it should be an eventful offseason — possibly including at least a partial overturn of the roster, namely a possible undignified exodus from NYC for A-Rod — for the Yankees. New Yorkers don’t date losers, you see.
