Song already written about the Boise State equipment truck hitting a cow (video)
A shocking tale of bovine bloodshed on the highways shattered the calm of the interwebs on Thursday when news surfaced that the equipment truck for the Boise State Broncos football team struck a cow on Wednesday. Evidence of the grisly carnage was captured in graphic photographic form by Idaho Statesmen sports columnist Brian Murphy and uploaded to his Twitter account.
The equipment truck was en route to Hattiesburg, Miss. for a game against the Southern Miss. when it struck the poor cow on a stretch of road about an hour outside Albuquerque, N.M.. According to a subsequent tweet from Murphy, “Drivers not injured and that “Trailer/contents not damaged.” But do you know what was damaged? The cow.
That’s where singer/songwriter Bayou Billy comes in. Less than one day later, Mr. Bayou Billy hastily put together a touching track about the unfortunate incident, in an attempt to capture the feelings of a troubled nation with a song entitled, fittingly, “Boise State Cow Song.”
Um, yeah. That’s interesting. While I appreciate the meaning, methinks Bayou Billy won’t be up for a Grammy for this particular track anytime soon. But hey, in his defense, I did mention is was a hastily put-together song.
