Ohio State Buckeyes freshman QB tweet: ‘we ain’t come to play SCHOOL’
I think we can all agree that going to classes as a college student sucks. Even people who never went to college probably believe that to be the case, which in fact may be at least part of the reason they didn’t attend college in the first place.
But when you are a football player at a high-profile school playing for a high-profile football program that found itself embroiled in some troubling business after having to deal with some issues related to some questionable activities by the student-athletes playing for said football program, issuing a poorly worded tweet bemoaning how you don’t understand why you have to go to class in the first place? Yeah, probably not a good idea.
That’s the situation that Ohio State Buckeyes freshman quarterback Cardale Jones plunged himself into on Friday with what can only be described as an ill-advised moment of temporary honesty on Twitter.
Ouch. Jones, who by all accounts I am sure is a fine, upstanding young man who was simply griping about an early morning class he didn’t particularly feel like going to (as all freshman are wont to do), apparently promptly deleted the tweet — in fact, the Twitter account where the tweet originated from doesn’t even exist anymore. But if he had to do it all over again, it’s a good bet he probably wouldn’t have offered up that particular tweet in the first place.
