Lingerie Football League brags play has ‘Bitch Slap Heard Around the World’ (video)

In Canadian Lingerie Football League action this week, a game between the Toronto Triumph and the Saskatoon Sirens, the very definition of “heated” rivals (bam!), a play ensued that got jaws dropping and presumably tongues wagging.

The play in question focuses upon the tough running by Triumph offensive weapon Petshauna “The Locomotive” Pinnock, who, on a running play, appears about to be dropped for a big loss behind the line of scrimmage. But that’s when “The Locomotive” busts out a hybrid stiff-arm/smack on Heather “Rockstar” Furr, an act of girl-on-girl aggression that the LFL has proudly dubbed, “The Bitch Slap Heard Around The World.”

“The Locomotive” proceeds to blast through halfhearted arm tackles by Sirens defensive players en route to a punishing and lengthy rush. Well done.

You know, I was going to chastise the LFL for denigrating the players in its league by referring to a play as “The Bitch Slap Heard Around The World,” when I realized that these are women playing football in lingerie. By choice. Yeah, I guess you can call it whatever you want, Lingerie Football League folks.

But if the geniuses behind the Lingerie Football League really wanted to add some style, some panache, an additional layer of subtle misogyny, they could have added a musical accompaniment to the video. Prodigy’s “Smack My Bitch Up,” perhaps?
