Minor League Baseball

Here’s Roger Clemens throwing a bullpen session last week (video)

You may have heard that at the age of 50, Roger Clemens is making a comeback in the world of professional baseball. Granted, it’s not for an MLB team, but it is for Texas’ Sugar Land Skeeters, a pro ball outfit based in conveniently, Sugar Land, which apparently is just outside of Houston, where I reckon the skeeters can be particularly heinous.

The Skeeters, who play in  the independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, have Clemens penciled in as the team’s starter for its Saturday tilt with the Bridgeport Bluefish.

For those of you who wonder just how much Clemens can possibly have in the tank at his age, the former pitcher threw a bullpen session last weekend in front of some high school all-Americans at Illinois-Chicago’s Les Miller Field on Aug. 16 during a player workout for the Under Armour All-America Game, and from the looks of it and the audible pop of the catcher’s mitt, Clemens can still bring it.
