If you ever wanted to see a 90-year-old man pole vaulting, here you go (video)

The above video features 90-year-old Dr. William Bell, who, according to the YouTube video’s description, now is the world record holder in pole vault for his age group. The description lacks detail, but depending on the breadth of the age range Bell is now the world record holder in, I’m pretty sure the competition is fairly slim.

Bell’s world record-breaking vault was 7 feet, 2 inches, but given his advanced age, that’s a pretty impressive height.

Dr. Bell is apparently the father of former Olympic silver medalist Earl Bell and still pole vaults three times a week at his son’s training facility in northeast Arkansas. Amazing. Still, I imagine Dr. Bell nevertheless would insist that pole vaulting is an easier activity then trying to make it through the night without having to get up and go to the bathroom.
