Breaking: Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy will wear clothes at the British Open (pics)
In case you were suspected that on at least one day during the Open Championship at Royal Lytham that either Tiger Woods or Rory McIlroy would not be able to pick out an outfit and show up at the tee box on the fist hole wearing nothing but their underwear, the outfits that each golfer will wear on the four days of the tournament (should they survive the cut) have been revealed.
And in a shocking departure from the norm, it looks like for Sunday’s closing round, Tiger Woods will don a…red shirt. Strange days, my friends. The only thing that would come as less of a surprise is if Rickie Fowler didn’t wear something ridiculously garish.
For all you golfing fashionistas who value style over substance, Rory’s outfits follow.
Hmm, Friday’s outfit sure is interesting. Plaid and stripes, eh?
There was a time not long ago when it did not matter one bit what golfers decided as it pertained to their wardrobe choices and what they would wear during tournament play, but given the amount of money and attention that is spent on player sponsorships and whatnot, the times have changed. And even though times have undoubtedly changed, it still doesn’t matter, but I guess we’re supposed to care now. Which we don’t. But hey, look: both McIlroy and Woods will be wearing golf attire while they are golfing! That’s…neat.
