Sexually suggestive cheerleader video made to protest locale of 2014 IIHF Worlds

The IIHF World Championships are tentatively scheduled to be held in Minsk, Belarus in 2014 and the organization No To Minsk 2014 is going all out to protest the location in light of  human rights violations perpetrated by the host nation’s government. And by “all out” I of course mean the organization rounded up some well-known Finnish actresses to participate in a sexually suggestive video where they dance about seductively in cheerleader uniforms and do all kinds of naughty things to hockey sticks and other assorted hockey equipment.

Video follows.

WARNING: If it’s not obvious enough by the above screengrab, the video contains sexually suggestive content. Viewer discretion is advised.

Sweet sassy molassey. That’s certainly one way to get people’s attention.

Obviously, this highly controversial topic will garner plenty of debate in the next couple of years — and since I am not well-versed in all the ins and outs, an excellent rundown of the pertinent issues can be perused here — but in the end, many of us likely wouldn’t have had the foggiest idea what was going on and how the location of the 2014 IIHF World Championship is and will be such a contentious issue. So, I guess what I’m getting at here is the video did its job.

And in light of Minsk being the disputed locale in question, what a strange, erotic journey to Minsk it will be.
