Brett Lawrie’s good day: Walkoff HR, Victoria’s Secret model interview (vids)

To say that Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Brett Lawrie had a good day on Tuesday would be a drastic understatement. Not only did he hit a walkoff home run to cap a dramatic 8-7 comeback win over the red-hot Texas Rangers (above, and check out the height he gets on his leap near home plate — Kendrys Morales shuddered), he had the good luck to participate in a pregame interview with Victoria’s Secret model Elsa Hosk.

Obviously, a walkoff home run is a thrilling moment in a baseball player’s life, especially when it happens to a 22-year-old who was appearing in only his 67th game in the big leagues, but let’s be honest: getting interviewed by a gorgeous Victoria’s Secret model probably ranks up there as well, perhaps even higher.

With that in mind, let’s focus more upon Lawrie’s brush with sexiness on Tuesday during an appearance at a downtown Toronto shopping mall where he helped launch the Blue Jays’ line of clothing, which is part of Victoria’s Secret co-branded PINK MLB Collection.

Video follows.

Well done, good sir. I can imagine Lawrie sitting at his locker following his eventful Tuesday and saying to himself, “Today was a good day.” And better yet, he didn’t even have to use his AK. Which makes sense because there’s a 99.9% chance he doesn’t own one. But when you get a chance to make a good Ice Cube reference, you snatch it up, people.
